Chew Tai Lu

the van literally parked in the bus bay with no care for the world

He is 56 and vice president of product innovation at SIA.

He was involved in a car accident which caused injury to 3 pedestrains and another car. From what I read in the paper today, he seems to have acted responsibly by staying around to help the injured, visited them at hospital, offered compensation etc.

He was fined $2,000 for causing accident.

So far nothing fantastic. But towards the end of the article, it reported that Mr Chew could lose his job and about $250,000 worth of share options given the conviction.

Is it true, SIA?

VERY UNLIKELY HE WILL LOOSE HIS JOB.

Chew Tai Lu has very good personal working relations in SIA.

He revealed that he could loose his job and his share options, especially to highlight to the victims, prosecutors and the Judge the possible further punishments and outcome should he be convicted SEVERELY of his mistake.

Especially highlighting to them of the MARTYRDOM that he will face after trying his best to make good PERSONALLY with the victims.

Surprisingly the Judge did not ban him from driving at all.

Chew Tai Lu's sibling is rumoured to be in public service as part of the Diplomatic Corp representing Singapore in some foreigh mission.

Could he have been let off so lightly because of his connections?
Also, Chew is of high-level management in SIA, our National Carrier. The light sentencing was to show Justice for his mistake but not to cause him Severe Repurcussions in his role in the Republic's Airline.

"Chew Tai Lu's sibling is rumoured to be in public service as part of the Diplomatic Corp representing Singapore in some foreigh mission."

If i'm not wrong, his brother represents Singapore in France.

Looks like the Judge recognised the Merits of his Family's Contribution to Singapore, therefore the CONCESSION as shown in his LIGHT SENTENCING.
